for everyone
Jeje & Jedda's wedding.
Dec. 26, 2007.

A day of lucky rain showers and picturesque atmospheres, of love and friendships, of spiritual bonds and pure bliss.  Tears were swelling up as I watched one of my best friends walk down that aisle.

Oh my gosh, this is it! - I kept saying to myself.   She looked so beautiful in her  gown, radiant, graceful and yet giggling like a little girl.

I am so happy for you, Jedz!    Congratulations once again!  (Waw, so drama this paragraph, yah?)

(Photos by Pat:  The couple after the ceremony & the gang at Starbucks, Rockwell.)

Just a little story behind my preparations as Jedz' entourage:

Months ago, I had gone back and forth to Mercer for the designing and fitting of the secondary sponsor's gown.  Even if I didn't get to lose the needed fat I had wanted to get rid of (of course one would want to look ravishing for a wedding), everything turned out really well.

Inigo, my personal stylist (hehe! Love you hon!), was a huge help and May, Laida and I went to Ystilo in Festival mall to get our hair and make up done "professionally".  The thing is, I had my eyebrows done 3 times because this person made me look like I had just woken up from the 80's.  My eyebrows are naturally odd looking, and some parts are "broken" (as he calls it), so to put a Bert & Ernie on me just didn't fit at all, nor did it make sense!

Anyhow, May rubbed most of it off before we entered the reception but of course the teasing from the boys was almost non-stop.  Kulet eh!  So the whole wedding reception was fun.  Especially the sushi buffet and the who gets the garter for the single people only game portion.

Time flew by so fast and we ended the party early and headed on to Starbucks where all would have been relaxing except for two middle eastern looking old men who kept staring at my direction.  I kept peeping down to check if my boobs hadn't popped out.  Once I got home, I took the pins out of my hair and realized that I could do with a permed type hair.  Well, the photo looks messy but you get my point.

The Annual Dinner party at JV's house:

Every New Year's eve, we all indulge and drown ourselves with the delicious food and the overflowing beers that JV and his family provide.  Although this 2008 was a bit quieter and somewhat lonely without those who were not able to come.  The photos above was taken as an attempt of the traditional trio (plus one) pic with Peachy who is all the way over in Qatar.  We miss you bes!

Here's one of my favorite pictures, with Tito Inigo as the yaya trying to make uto-uto Aia's little angel Adriana, who was so behaved for her 1st barkada party, and didn't give mommy a hard time.

Let me know when her ears are pierced ha, Aia?  I'm gonna find those girly skulls with pink ribbons to match her emo outfit.

As I carried "Yana" (sorry, I can't help it, Ai's.  Still trying to figure out a nickname for her) in my arms, she fell asleep.  I haven't done this in 5 years.  The last time a baby fell asleep as I rocked it was with my youngest sister who is now 6.  The feeling was familiar and I miss it.  But that nostalgic feeling slowly went away when I felt my biceps quivering.

Sigh... I need to get back in shape.  This is one of my top priorities this year.  I usually don't make new year's resolutions but I have to start some changes about myself and I need to be disciplined enough to make it all work.  Honestly, when the clock struck midnight and the fireworks went all crazy, my 2008 started really bad.

Remember our annoying neighbor who got mad at us because he thought we were accusing him of stealing our dog?  Well, he's still annoying.  They had their fireworks blasted on the street which is fine, but why would they put the fountain fireworks on our yard right next to the street?  It was blazing for a long time and the nearby bushes and trees were swaying with the strong wind that I was really worried that a fire could possibly start because of their stupidity.  Really, it was stupid.  And when he let a couple of Judas' belt (or whatever they call it now) rattle our ears to the pit of deafness, he shouted "Happy New Year!  Wake up! Wake up!  Whoohooo!" (My parent's bedroom window was directly above him) We were all awake, watching from our roof top the fireworks display across the whole Laguna area.  I have video proof of his annoying pa-inggit-effect voice, and I think he said the word "bastards".  I would need a CSI sound enhancer for that one.

Anyway, The first 5 minutes of the new year and I was ranting.  Not good, not good at all.  All I could do was look into the mirror and smile.  It's not worth the headache.  But in an overall aspect, the first 2 days of my 2008 had been horrible.  Except for the dinner at JV's house.  So what better way to get out of the muck than get a new look.

Yay!

Inigo and I went back to Ystilo (the worst place to get your eyebrows prettified) and risked my hair, and viola!  Just what I wanted.  My hairstylist Reggie did an excellent job without any reference except for my words, "Layered.  Shaggy.  Make me look more Korean."  Applause!

So that's that for my New Year's entry. Didn't realize it was gonna be this long!  *blows torotot!!!*
