I have a peeve.
If you are one of those who watch this season's American Idol, then you will (hopefully) know what I am going to talk about.
But first and foremost, I feel that this year's contestants are the most talented bunch ever. I love the Top Ten. I don't have one particular favorite so far (or so yet) but was sad and shocked to see Michael Johns go.
But the thing I itch about are the back up singers. They sound awful! They make the contestant seem out of tune. Listen to David Cook's rendition of Mariah Carey's "Always Be MY Baby", (which he made into such a beautiful version by the way, and got me all goose-bumpy all over)... towards the climactic and end of the song the back ups just really make my ears sting. Really! It sounds as if one is trying to be louder than the rest, while another is really off pitch. Basta! Something is wrong.
I'm surprised that the judges hasn't caught this. I've been waiting for Simon Cowell to stand up, point to the back ups and say "Get off the stage."
