Was intrigued when Martin told me to check out his latest blog post. So here I am, answering the questions.
It was fun! :D
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Hhmmm...
1.) Made a short song for a 3-minute film for my HS batch mate now based in London. You can listen to the track entitled "Touch Me Not" HERE.
2.) I teach dance on the side but I choreographed 300 dancers for the opening number of Clear's (shampoo) Black Valentine's event and that was a 1st! You can watch it HERE
I think that's about it.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't make any new year's resolution for 2008. I don't think I'll make one for 2009. I just end up ignoring it.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My high school best friend Jedz now has a beautiful baby girl who looks just like her, and my close friend since HS, Aids, has a really gwapito son, Augustus. I like to nickname him Goose.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not close, but a parent of a classmate, and then 2 more unrelated deaths who were related to someone I know. Death comes in three's you know.
5. What countries did you visit?
I got to visit Mongolia, parts of the USA again and the UK, and then Ancient Egypt and Atlantis. Thanks to the educational channels on TV.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
More business means more money means more happyness.
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
*Flips through my planner*
January 13- when Aids did his official "Daddy na ako" announcement;
June 6 and the weeks before that- our official 11th year DLSZ batch reunion held at Al's Bar because it was a big event to organize!
And then of course there is that week somewhere during early June when my band, The Amandas, disbanded. Why? let's just call it "conflict of interests".
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Re-discovering Self-Worth.
9. What was your biggest failure?
It has something to do with money.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Hell yeah! I had my 2nd case of Dengue but luckily enough I was confined to the hospital for only 3 days and did not need any blood transfusion. I didn't even know that I had already had Dengue before. It was scary for I have never been confined until that happened.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My DS Lite. I don't regret buying it!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
-Inigo. He reflects back at me what I don't see clearly, he has this hunger to dwell more into his own personal indulges and yet has never made me feel unloved. And he knows, understands and loves me for who I am... wow, heavy and smothered with lotsa cheese! But it's the only way I can verbally express what I am feeling.
-My dad and my brothers and sisters. Everyday spent with them is always a new adventure.
-My barkada since high school. Despite differences of opinions, we never have a fit of arguments. They are my comfort zone.
-Pam (Rommy). I think she is my inspiration that lead me to speak my mind out louder than before.
-The boys and girl of Mahasa and The Haneps. I always look forward being with them. They make me smile a lot.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Hay nako ha! Ang dami. I won't name names but I'll give the scenarios: Those who asked for my help because of their "love problems" tapos they don't listen naman pala and they don't want to let go. Those who gave me headaches and heartaches because of financial trouble. Those who called me selfish, judgemental, and cocky. Whatever dude.
14. Where did most of your money go?
To the business. Ganun talaga. I don't mind. It just... hurts my wallet.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
When Inigo gave me my first DSLR camera during my birthday and the new lens he gave me just this Christmas! Thanks again Hon! Love you.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Hmm... tough one. I'll go with "Apologize" by Timabaland featuring One Republic.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
happier or sadder? Depends on the situation that had happened. Can I answer angrier? Kidding!
richer or poorer? Poorer. Everyone's poorer these days because of the world's economy falling, you idiot!
thinner or fatter? I usually fluctuate body weight. But my scale tips more on the fatter side. Eating is happyness.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
What DO I wish?... *thinks* More aggressive marketing strategies.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Complain. It's a tiring thing to do.
20. How did you spend the holidays?
At home with my family for Christmas. Seeing the kids beaming faces and stating that my gifts were the best and that I am the best is always a heart warming thing to hear. And it makes my holiday shopping worth all that money!
And a vacation to a private beach resort with my closest friends. It was a needed getaway for most of us, too.
21. Did you fall in love in 2008?
I'm still in love with the same man for more than four years already.
22. How many one-night stands?
Now why would you need to ask a question like that?! NO. I don't do one night stands.
23. What were your favorite TV programs?
House, M.D., LOST, all the CSI shows, One Tree Hill, Heroes, the reruns of FRIENDS and That 70's Show and Will & Grace, Jamie Oliver's cooking programs, Late Night with David Letterman, American Idol, and...
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Not really hate. More like really annoyed.
25. What were the best books you've read?
I wouldn't call them the best books, but they are a very good read.
Neil Gaiman's Fragile Things, The Spiderwick Chronicles (the whole collection that I bought for my sister, Dandan) and theTwilight book series. (Although I really disliked the movie version)
26. What was your favorite film of this year?
Oooh! I love movies. I didn't go out much to the cinemas this year so I didn't get to catch the others that were the most-anticipated movie of the year ek-ek. But here's my favorites based on really liking the movie, enjoying the company of who I saw it with and laughing until my jaws ached.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Death Race, GHOST TOWN (highly recommended), Hancock, IRON MAN, Kung Fu Panda, MIRRORS, Nim's Island, The Rocker, The Spiderwick Chronicles, VANTAGE POINT, WALL-E, Wanted, What Happens In Vegas.
27. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Still in to the jeans and tees, but once in a while I dress up more than I did before. I think I became more girly this year too.

My mom.
29. Who was the best new person you met?
There's a handful of those that I really got along with well during our first few encounters.

Stand up for what you think is right.
31. What was your greatest musical discovery?

32. What did you want and get?
I'm not like that. Really. Honestly, I can't think of anything that I made a fit to want and got it. Hahaha!
33. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
I turned 28 and did a joint birthday party for our close friends,
34. What one thing would have made your year immeasureably more satisfying?
More guts.
35. What kept you sane?
I kept telling myself that those downhill moments were all caused by chemical imbalances. Try it. It works.
36. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Ben Barnes. *sigh*
37. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Eh? Uhm... "It's too late to apologize..." --- Hihihihihi!
